Year 3

Welcome to Year 3
Class Teachers:  Mrs Gray and Miss Poynton
Support Staff: Mrs Jackson (HLTA) Mrs Pooran(TA)

We all show our WARRIOR values of,
Willpower
Achievement
Respect
Reflection
Independence
Organisation and
Reliability
throughout the week, during our lessons and in the playground.
Every day we show MORE by learning through memorable learning to help us remember, oracy (talking) to each other, reading, and experiences that bring our learning to life!

Reading
Reading is vital to learning.  Not only will continued practise improve reading, it will also support spelling and writing. Please also support your child by listening to them read every night, making sure that you ask plenty of questions so that you check that your child has understood what they have read. Once your child has finished their book, they need to bring it into school to have it changed.
To encourage independence in Year Three, the children are responsible for changing their own reading book.

Key words
Sets of words will come home for your child to read and spell.

P.E.
P.E. is on Mondays and Tuesdays in Mr Britner’s class and twice on a Tuesday in

Mr Carvalho’s class, don’t forget your kit!
