Mrs Pauline Robinson
Co-Opted Governor
Pauline started volunteering in her children’s school over 40 years ago, then went to college to gain an NNEB and started working in a nursery school in the 80’s. Eventually, going to University to become a social worker in the late 90’s.
Having worked my way through to managing Child Protection Social Work teams in three different Local Authorities, Pauline decided to retire in May 2022, to become a lady of leisure.
Pauline is now able to enjoy her hobbies full time. She's been sewing since she was four and loves spending time at her sewing machine. In 2019 Pauline managed a team of social workers who were allocated to various schools in Stockport. She was so impressed with Westmorland Primary School, that when she retired, she offered to do some voluntary work. So now, Pauline comes into school two mornings a week to listen to children read and join in with other school activities.
As a Co-opted Governor, since June 2022, Pauline is responsible for the E.A.L. (English as an Additional Language), and is very impressed with the actions and events that the school undertakes to ensure all children are inclusive.
Pauline also sits on the Curriculum Committee; and is particularly interested in the ‘Rocket Phonics’ scheme which the school has invested in, to ensure all children can read to the best of their ability."
