Year 5 Trip to Weaver Hall
On our trip to Weaver Hall to find out about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings Year 5 looked at the type of weapons the Anglo-Saxon's would have used and learned how to make a shield wall to defend the settlement against raiders. For the archaeology section of the trip the children "excavated" the burial of a warrior and learned what the artefacts tell us about the warrior's life and death. In the craft session the children made a clay figure based on the Lewis Chess pieces
