As part of our Road to Rio celebrations, we have adopted a Paralympic athlete, table tennis champion Danielle Rauen from Brazil.  We set up a live video call from school to Brazil so we could talk to her.  

The children asked Danielle questions to get to know about her and her training regime in the run up to the Paralympics.   Due to Danielle being Brazilian, we needed a Portuguese translator to translate what she said.  We are very lucky to have two boys in our year 1 classes who speak Portuguese!  They introduced our school to Danielle. 

We hope to link up with her again after she has competed in the Paralympics.  We also hope to keep in contact with her and send each other items in the future
