Breakfast at Westmorland Primary.
We offer two options for your child to receive a healthy breakfast before they start school.
We run a breakfast club, in the school hall, everyday from 7:45am.
This club aims to:
- Encouraging independence
The children will be encouraged to serve themselves e.g. pour their own milk and cereal.
- Enable children to eat a healthy breakfast
There is a daily continental buffet for all children to enjoy, this includes: toast, cheese, cereals, milk, fruit juice, yogurts, fresh fruit, potato cakes, crumpets.
There is also a daily hot option for the children to enjoy, alongside the continental options, these include: beans on toast, porridge, scrambled eggs, noodles, sausage sandwiches and croissants.
- Be affordable
The breakfast club costs £1 per day, per child
National School Breakfast Programme
In addition to our Breakfast club, our school has joined the government’s National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.
As a NSBP School we are pleased to offer a healthy school breakfast, available to all, and enjoy the benefits that brings, with children settled and ready to learn at the start of the school day.
Westmorland have decided to deliver this healthy school breakfast by serving bagels at the start of the school day. Your child will be able to eat a bagel (1/2 a bagel for a pupil in KS2 and 1/4 of a bagel for KS1 and EYFS) on their playground at the start of each day.
