8th June 2020
As you will have read the R value (rate of infection) in the Northwest is at 1+. This means that currently, there may be an increased chance of catching the virus in our area.
To attempt to ensure everyone is kept safe at school (along with many other schools in Stockport and across the region) we will not begin the phased re-introduction of children until at least 22nd June. Please also remember to keep your child safe at home by making sure you know where your children are at all times and who they are with - making sure they socially distance.
School leaders and governors will monitor the R value and other factors and will only open when we can ensure that it is safe to do so.
We will of course maintain keyworker care provision as we have done throughout, for those families where a parent/carer can’t work from home, this now needs to be booked a week in advance by email to the Headteacher’s account.
I have asked my teaching team to provide work for all children from Wednesday 10th June, this work will be published on the school website and you will need to collect a resource pack EACH WEEK from school. We are also setting up email addresses so that you can send us examples of your child’s completed work and will be able to have some feedback. You will receive further instruction when you come for your work pack and the letter will be published on the website.
On Wednesday, we will also be starting our “ring round” service to check how things are going and if we can offer further support. The ever-popular food hampers are also returning as I know that these are well received by our whole school family. Please do come and collect when you receive a text, there’s enough for everyone!
I take opportunity to thank you for your continued support and supportive comments.
I look forward to doing everything I can to open school to more children as soon as possible.
