New Staffing Letter

8th October 2020
Dear Parents/Carers,
Now that school is back into some sort of routine I have taken stock and realised that I have not written to you to help welcome new members of staff and say goodbye to others. It is with that in mind that I write to you now.
During lockdown, Mrs Cawsey our upper key stage 2 maths booster teacher retired. Since retiring she has moved to Hampshire with her partner. We wish her well and thank her for her work here at Westmorland.
Many of you will know our school business manager Mrs Rippon is currently off work following an operation, whilst she recovers we will be re-joined by Mrs Hill (Wendy).
Mrs Keegan the pastoral manager resigned in September to move onto pastures new, as such we have appointed both James and Roxanne to the role. As part of changing the look of the pastoral team we also welcome two new members to it; Claire Quinn will be joining us for a day each week and will focus on pupil attendance and Cassie Dunlop will join us in November and focus on providing play therapy to some of the children.  We are excited about the changing support that the pastoral team will be able to offer to our school family.
Over lockdown we have appointed several very experienced and highly skilled teaching assistants to the team here. We welcome Kelly Foster, Kelly Parkin, Yvonne Waters and Liv Furness.
We have also appointed Heather O’Connell (Reception) and Nick Moorby (Year 3) to the teaching team, they come with vast experience and having seen them working with your children will be amazing teachers here. I am sure you will make them feel very welcome.
As team Westmorland continues to grow, I know you will make everyone welcome and help support us to improve the outcomes for your children.
Kind regards,
Martin Henderson
