Christmas Letter Dec 2020
Dear Parents /Carers,
We have reached the end of the school term on site and with school now having to provide learning from home for the last two days. (Monday, Tuesday next week)
I have asked the teachers to upload the children’s work onto SEESAW for completion on Monday and Tuesday and to man their computers from home for the usual school hours to respond to the work submitted. So please do make sure that your children complete lots of work to keep their teachers busy and the children form under your feet!
I have also asked my team to check in with you all by phone and support your children’s learning where they can, so please do answer calls from withheld numbers during those two days.
In order to help you get into the festive mood the school team have uploaded a short Nativity featuring your children and some very special visitors that came to school in order to help illustrate the Christmas story. A link is provided on your child’s SEESAW account. Please do log in to it to have a look. Alternatively log directly into the google drive.
The local Authority chose to close all Stockport schools early to enable more of us to have a Christmas in some way or another. COVID has not gone away, but in closing “on site learning” it is hoped that the risk of transmission or those having to isolate will be reduced significantly.
Over the next few days, until Wednesday next week, Heads across the country have been asked by Public Health England to contact trace for our school family. This means that if any child that attends Westmorland presents with any symptoms or tests positive for COVID then you should contact me.
This will allow me to support you as appropriate and contact others from our school community and let them know if they need to isolate. This will once again help keep all our school and extended families safe, we did this really well over the October half term break. As such please call or text the school mobile on 07394 917 125. It’s ok to “one bell” me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Alternatively if it is easier please e-mail the Headteacher account, leaving a telephone number and I will respond as quickly as possible firstname.lastname@example.org
I take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for your support over this last 9 months. I take opportunity on your behalf to thank “Team Westmorland” for their dedication and commitment to your children.
I wish you a very Happy and SAFE Christmas and look forward to welcoming you and your children back to school on 11th January 2021 with the hope of returning to a more normal year.
